## Request

  - API key in header `X-API-KEY`
  - HTTP bearer

Answers: what is the state of the application behind this granted patent — same object as /v1/applications/{n}, looked up by patent number (the number printed on products and in Google Patents). 404 not_found if the patent is unknown.

## Path parameters

- `patent_number` string, required: US patent number without commas; design/plant/reissue prefixes allowed (D912345, PP12345, RE48123).
