# Delete an alert

`DELETE /v1/alerts/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.particle.pro`
- URL: `https://api.particle.pro/v1/alerts/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Soft-delete an alert. Existing matches and deliveries are retained for audit but no further matches will be produced. Only the alert's creator or an organization OWNER or ADMIN can delete it; an API key acts as the user who created the key. Any other caller receives 403.
