# Update Template Sharing Settings

`PUT /public/v1/templates/{template_id}/shares`

## Request

Replaces the full list of Workspaces this Template is shared with.
The caller must be a member of every Workspace being newly shared by this
call. Unsharing a Workspace only requires permission to edit the Template.

## Path parameters

- `template_id` string, required

## Request body

- TemplateSharesRequest: The desired set of Workspaces a Template should be shared with.
  - `workspace_ids` string[], required: Unique identifiers of the Workspaces the Template should be shared with, representing the complete desired end-state rather than a delta. Duplicate ids are deduplicated, and the server replaces the prior shares with this set atomically.

## Response `200`

Successfully replaced the Template's Shares.

- TemplateSharesResponse: The Workspaces a Template is currently shared with.
  - `workspace_ids` string[], required: Unique identifiers of the Workspaces the Template is currently shared with, reflecting the server state at the time of the response.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Authentication error
- `403`: Permission error
- `404`: Not found
- `429`: Too Many Requests
