# \[Beta\] Update Workspace Privacy Settings

`PATCH /public/beta/privacy-settings/workspaces/{workspace_id}`

## Request

Updates one or more AI privacy settings for a workspace in your
organization.

This is a PATCH: include only the fields you want to change. Fields you
omit keep their current values. Unknown properties are ignored.

You must be an **organization admin**. Organization admin is an
organization-wide role and is separate from workspace admin. Workspace
admin alone is not enough for this endpoint.

## Writable fields

- `ai_features_enabled`
- `ai_on_premises_processing_enabled`
- `ai_cloud_third_party_enabled`
- `ai_third_party_training_enabled`

HIPAA (`hipaa_compliance_enabled`), 21 CFR Part 11
(`cfr11_compliance_enabled`), and `ai_on_premises_training_enabled` are
returned on read but cannot be changed through this endpoint.

## Cascades

- Setting `ai_features_enabled` to `false` also turns off
  `ai_on_premises_processing_enabled`, `ai_cloud_third_party_enabled`,
  `ai_on_premises_training_enabled`, and `ai_third_party_training_enabled`.
- When `hipaa_compliance_enabled` is `true` for the workspace, the same
  AI fields are forced off, including values sent in the same request.

## Request body

- UpdatePrivacySettings: Fields that can be changed on a workspace privacy settings PATCH. Omit any field you want to leave unchanged.
  - `ai_features_enabled` boolean: Master switch for AI features. Setting it to `false` also disables `ai_on_premises_processing_enabled`, `ai_cloud_third_party_enabled`, `ai_on_premises_training_enabled`, and `ai_third_party_training_enabled`.
  - `ai_on_premises_processing_enabled` boolean: Whether PandaDoc-operated AI processing is enabled.
  - `ai_cloud_third_party_enabled` boolean: Whether third-party cloud AI processing is enabled.
  - `ai_third_party_training_enabled` boolean: Whether third-party model training is enabled.

## Response `200`

Updated privacy settings for the workspace.

- PrivacySettings: Effective privacy settings for a workspace. Compliance flags and on-premises training are read-only on this API.
  - `workspace_id` string, required: Workspace id.
  - `hipaa_compliance_enabled` boolean, required: Whether HIPAA compliance is enabled for the workspace. When `true`, every AI setting is forced off.
  - `cfr11_compliance_enabled` boolean, required: Whether 21 CFR Part 11 compliance is enabled for the workspace.
  - `ai_features_enabled` boolean, required: Master switch for AI features in the workspace.
  - `ai_on_premises_processing_enabled` boolean, required: Whether PandaDoc-operated AI processing is enabled.
  - `ai_cloud_third_party_enabled` boolean, required: Whether third-party cloud AI processing is enabled.
  - `ai_on_premises_training_enabled` boolean, required: Whether PandaDoc-operated model training is enabled.
  - `ai_third_party_training_enabled` boolean, required: Whether third-party model training is enabled.

## Other responses

- `401`: Authentication error
- `403`: Permission error
- `404`: Not found error
- `429`: Too many requests error
