# Identify the mailbox provider

`GET /tools/mailbox-provider`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.palisade.email`
- URL: `https://api.palisade.email/tools/mailbox-provider`
- Auth: one of:
  - none
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP basic

Identify which mailbox provider hosts a domain's inbound mail, from its live MX records. Returns a null provider when the MX records match no known provider, when the domain has no MX at all, or when a security gateway sits in front and hides the provider behind it. Authentication is optional.
