# Decline pool invitation

`POST /participant-pools/{participantPoolId}/invitations/{id}/decline`

## Request

Decline an invitation to join the participant pool. The invitation will be marked as declined.

## Request body

- object
  - `token` string, required: Secret token used to validate the invitation

## Response `200`

Returns an object with a declined parameter and the updated invitation on success. If the invitation id does not exist or token is invalid, returns an error.

  - `declined` boolean: Indicates that the invitation was declined
  - `invitation` ParticipantPoolInvitation: An invitation to join a participant pool
    - `id` string: Unique identifier for the invitation
    - `name` string, required: Name of the person being invited
    - `email` string, required: Email address of the person being invited
    - `roles` ParticipantPoolMemberRoleEnum[], required: Roles that will be assigned to the member when they accept the invitation
    - `status` 'PENDING' | 'DECLINED': Lifecycle status of a participant pool invitation. Absent on invitations created before this field existed; consumers must treat a missing value as PENDING.
    - `createdAt` string, date-time: Timestamp when the invitation was created
    - `expiresAt` string, date-time: Timestamp when the invitation expires
    - `declinedAt` string, date-time: Timestamp when the invitation was declined. Present only while status is DECLINED; cleared when the decline is undone or the invitation is revived by a re-invite.
