# Downgrade Subscription

`POST /payments/downgrade`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.oxlo.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.oxlo.ai/payments/downgrade`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Downgrade to a lower plan at end of current billing period.

IMPORTANT: This is different from cancel!
- Cancel: User goes to Free plan, subscription ends.
- Downgrade: User switches to a lower PAID plan (Premium → Pro).

Business Rules:
- Premium can downgrade to Pro (scheduled for end of period)
- Pro CANNOT downgrade further (use /cancel instead)
- User keeps current plan benefits until period ends
- At period end, new plan pricing kicks in

## Request body

- DowngradeRequest: Request to downgrade to a lower plan at end of billing period.
  - `target_plan` string, required

## Response `200`
