# Unified cross-bucket search (tickers + companies + borrowers + news)

`GET /api/search/all`

One-call replacement for the cmd-palette's 4-way fan-out.

Empty / whitespace-only query returns empty buckets immediately
(no fan-out cost). All 4 backends called concurrently via
`asyncio.gather`; per-bucket failures are isolated (an empty
list / dict is returned for that bucket while the others succeed).

Successful Response

- UnifiedSearchResponse: Wire shape for GET /api/search?q=... Each bucket is normalized to a flat list. Empty buckets MUST be `[]` (not null / absent) so the frontend can iterate unconditionally.
  - `q` string, required: Echo of the input query (whitespace-stripped).
  - `tickers` object[], required: Ticker / company-name matches from /api/ticker-search.
  - `companies` object[], required: Company-DB fuzzy matches from /api/company/search (.results).
  - `borrowers` object[], required: BDC borrower autocomplete hits from /api/bdc/autocomplete (.results).
  - `news` object[], required: News headline matches from /api/news/search (.items or .results).
  - `filers` object[], required: 13F institutional-filer name matches from form13f_fund_quarter; each carries a ready-to-navigate /13f/<cik>-<slug> `path`.
  - `took_ms` integer, required: Server-side fan-out latency in milliseconds (excludes network).
