Returns the canonical team name for a raw name, so events can be matched across sportsbooks and score feeds.

simplified is present only for sports that also carry a shortened matching form.

Not needed for names this API returns: home_team and away_team on the odds and events endpoints are already the one canonical string per team for NFL, college football, NBA, NHL, MLB and college basketball. Use it to map an outside name onto ours.

Soccer: a name carrying Women, an age (U21, U-23, Under 20), Youth, Academy or Reserves is never mapped onto the senior club and comes back as sent: Manchester City Women returns Manchester City Women, not Manchester City. Other spellings of a women's or reserve side, such as a trailing W, Ladies, Femenino, Frauen or a reserve team's own name, are not recognised and can come back as the senior club.
