# Delete a draft experiment

`DELETE /api/v1/experiments/{experiment_id}`

## Request

Remove a draft that will never launch. Only a draft — nothing else.

A draft has served nobody, so deleting it erases no history. The audit
events survive the row on purpose (``experiment_events.entity_id`` is not
a foreign key), so who created and who deleted it stays answerable.

- `experiment_id` string, required

- `400`: Invalid experiment ID format
- `403`: User may not edit this experiment's campaign
- `404`: No such experiment
- `409`: The experiment is not a draft. A launched experiment is concluded or canceled, never erased — its record is what its contacts were measured under
- `422`: Validation Error
