# Send a test notification

`POST /alerts/{alertId}/test`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://outdoorithm.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://outdoorithm.com/api/v1/alerts/{alertId}/test`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Fire a test notification for this alert — useful to verify webhook delivery.

## Path parameters

- `alertId` string, required: The alert UUID.

## Query parameters

- `end_user_id` string: Required for partner keys: the customer that owns this alert. A different customer receives the same 404 as an unknown alert.

## Response `200`

Test fired.

    - `object` 'alert', required
    - `id` string, required
    - `test_notification_sent` true, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: No alert with that id.
- `422`: Partner key omitted end_user_id.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
