# Send a code to link or change the email of the account

`POST /api/v1/me/email/start`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://otprun.com`
- URL: `https://otprun.com/api/v1/me/email/start`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

An address of another account is refused with 409 email_taken only after the code is confirmed. Sets the otprun_email_bind cookie. Answers 503 with code unavailable while email sign-in is turned off and 403 with code reauth_required when the sign-in is older than 15 minutes.

- `Accept-Language` string: Language of the email, the account language when it is not supported

  - `challenge_id` string, uuid, required
  - `expires_at` string, date-time, required: The code and the link in the email stop working at this moment
  - `resend_at` string, date-time, required: Earliest moment a new email can be requested

- `403`: Forbidden
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity
- `429`: Too Many Requests
- `500`: Internal Server Error
- `503`: Service Unavailable
