# Delete file

`DELETE /v2/file-systems/{file_system_key}/files`

Deletes one file or folder. A folder that still has content is refused unless recursive is set.

## Path parameters

- `file_system_key` string, required

## Query parameters

- `path` string
- `recursive` boolean

## Response `200`

OK

- DeleteFileSystemFileResponse

  - `type` 'file' | 'dir' | 'symlink' | 'other', required

## Other responses

- `204` — File successfully deleted.
- `409` — Conflict - The folder is not empty and recursive was not set.
