# Residential IP status and data left

`GET /api/computers/{id}/residential-proxy`

## Request

Whether this computer’s Chrome goes out through a residential IP, the last exit IP Orgo saw, and the account’s data. The data belongs to the workspace owner. Only Google Chrome on the computer goes through the proxy.

?check=1 reads the exit IP through the proxy now and answers it with changed and checked_at, to test the route or see whether the IP has moved. An IP is sticky, not fixed: it lasts up to 2 hours, and it can change sooner if the home device behind it goes offline. A check spends a few KB of the account’s data. 6 checks a minute per computer.

## Response `200`

The status. With ?check=1, exit_ip is that reading.

- ResidentialProxyStatus
  - `proxy_on` boolean, required
  - `exit_ip` string, nullable, required: The last exit IP Orgo saw; null while the proxy is off.
  - `country` string, required: The exit country. us.
  - `quota` object, required: The workspace owner’s residential data.
    - `granted_bytes` integer, required
    - `used_bytes` integer, required
    - `remaining_bytes` integer, required
  - `changed` boolean: With ?check=1: the exit IP differs from the last one Orgo saw.
  - `checked_at` string, date-time: With ?check=1: when it was read.

## Other responses

- `403`: Residential IPs are not available here.
- `404`: No such computer.
- `409`: With ?check=1: the proxy is off on this computer, the computer is asleep (`computer_asleep`), or no reading came back. Try again; the IP on record stands.
- `429`: Too many checks on this computer (`rate_limited`). Retry-After says when.
