# Read a public URL’s password, and the cookie that opens it

`GET /api/computers/{id}/public-urls/{urlId}/password`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.orgo.ai`
- URL: `https://www.orgo.ai/api/computers/{id}/public-urls/{urlId}/password`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

For anyone with access to the computer. password is the one set with PATCH; cookie is what the password form sets in a visitor’s browser, so a client that opens the URL itself (in its own web view) can skip the form: send it as `Cookie: __Host-orgo_pass=<value>`. It works until the password changes. Both null for a URL anyone can open. Never cached.

The password and the cookie, or nulls.

  - `password` string, nullable, required: The password, or null for a URL anyone can open.
  - `cookie` object, nullable, required: The cookie that opens the URL until its password changes; null for a URL anyone can open.
    - `name` '__Host-orgo_pass', required
    - `value` string, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthenticated.
- `403`: No access to this computer, view-only access, or a share-link guest.
- `404`: Not found on this computer, or public URLs are not enabled for this account.
- `429`: Over one of the account's rate limits (rate_limited): `limit` names it, `retry_after` and Retry-After say how many seconds to wait. Limits are per account (the workspace owner when the request acts on a computer or a workspace) and set by its plan (x-rate-limits).
