# Ask System One questions

`POST /systemone`

## Request

Ask typed questions about a `state` and get calibrated answers.
No streaming. See [System One decisions](/other-apis/systemone).

## Request body

- SystemOneRequest
  - `model` string, required
  - `state` union, required: Content to evaluate: a string, or an object / array such as a chat log or a record. For `orca/orcac2-1.0`, images go under an `image`, `image_url` or `images` key (URL or base64 data URI).

  - `questions` object, required: 1 to 512 questions, keyed by IDs you choose.
  - `reasoning_effort` string: Optional. Same control as on Chat Completions.
  - `thinking` object: Optional. Same control as on Chat Completions.

## Response `200`

One answer per question, keyed by question ID.

  - `answers` object, required: One answer per question, under the ID you chose.
  - `usage` object, required
    - `input_tokens` integer
    - `output_tokens` integer
    - `image` boolean: Whether the call processed an image.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request parameters.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `402`: Account quota exhausted.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the delay in `Retry-After` header.
