# Find covered companies by ticker or part of a name

`GET /api/v1/companies/search`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://oqro.io`
- URL: `https://oqro.io/api/v1/companies/search`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Find covered companies by ticker or part of a name. Up to 20 matches, ticker matches first. Use it to resolve a name to a ticker.

## Query parameters

- `q` string, required

## Response `200`

JSON: { data, pagination?, meta? }. Every row links its official source.

## Other responses

- `400`: invalid_parameter
- `401`: missing_api_key or invalid_api_key
- `402`: The key's owner has no OQRO Pro
- `404`: ticker_not_covered
- `429`: rate_limited: 60 requests a minute and 5,000 a day per key
