# Monthly price history for any index

`GET /indices/{code}/history`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://opnplatform.com/api`
- URL: `https://opnplatform.com/api/indices/{code}/history`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - none

Returns monthly price history for any PackIndex code (L1, L2, or L3). Covers all 385 indices — corrugated, flexible, rigid, polymers, metals, aromatics, fibre, energy, glass, closures, pharma, and more. History depth is gated by plan:

Include `Authorization: Bearer opn_<key>` to unlock your plan depth. Useful for sparklines, trend charts, year-on-year analysis, and feeding the prediction / simulation engine.

Monthly price history

- IndexHistory: Monthly price history for a PackIndex code. Depth gated by plan: free=3mo, essential=12mo, professional=24mo, intelligence=24mo.
  - `category_id` string: PackIndex code (e.g. CORR, PVC, LME_AL)
  - `history` object[]
    - `change_pct` number, nullable: Month-on-month % change
    - `index_date` string, date: First day of the month (YYYY-MM-01)
    - `index_value` number: Index value for the month
    - `unit` string: Price unit (e.g. /t, $/unit, $/1000)
  - `months` integer: Number of months returned (may be less than requested if data not yet available)

## Other responses

- `403`: Plan limit
- `429`: Daily rate limit exceeded
