# Create Customer

`POST /v1/billing/customer`

## Request

Self-serve signup, right after the Company step: create the org's
Stripe customer so Stripe checks the billing address and VAT id while the
form is still on screen. Without this, a VAT id Stripe refuses only
surfaces at Activate, with no field left to fix it in.

Same guards as `/checkout` — one Stripe customer per org, created once.
