# Set Automation settings

`PUT /v1/org/automation-settings`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com`
- URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com/v1/org/automation-settings`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Turns Desktop Automations and Cloud Automations on or off for the organization. Turning a kind off stops new ones from being created and skips its scheduled runs; existing Automations and their history are kept and resume when it is turned back on. Cloud Automations cannot be turned on until the deployment has a headless runner. Requires Edit organization settings.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was invalid.
- `401`: Authentication required.
- `403`: The caller cannot edit organization settings.
- `404`: Automation settings are not turned on for this organization.
- `409`: Cloud Automations need the deployment's headless runner.
