# List Google Chat spaces, group chats and direct messages

`GET /v1/capabilities/google-workspace/chat-spaces`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com`
- URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com/v1/capabilities/google-workspace/chat-spaces`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Lists conversations the member belongs to, one page at a time. Filter by spaceType to list only direct messages, group chats or named spaces. To find the direct message with one person, use findGoogleChatDirectMessage. Uses only the calling member's selected connected Google account and requires the Google Chat permission on the Google Workspace connector.

## Query parameters

- `spaceType` 'SPACE' | 'GROUP_CHAT' | 'DIRECT_MESSAGE'
- `pageSize` integer
- `pageToken` string

## Response `200`

Google's validated response.

  - `spaces` GoogleChatSpace[]
    - `name` string, required
    - `spaceType` string
    - `displayName` string
    - `spaceUri` string
    - `lastActiveTime` string
  - `nextPageToken` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input.
- `401`: Sign-in required.
- `409`: Missing permission or Google Chat is not enabled for the connector.
- `502`: Google rejected or did not confirm the operation.
