# Read recent messages in a Google Chat space

`GET /v1/capabilities/google-workspace/chat-spaces/{spaceId}/messages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com`
- URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com/v1/capabilities/google-workspace/chat-spaces/{spaceId}/messages`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Returns messages newest first, one page at a time, with text, sender and thread. Uses only the calling member's selected connected Google account and requires the Google Chat permission on the Google Workspace connector.

Google's validated response.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input.
- `401`: Sign-in required.
- `409`: Missing permission or Google Chat is not enabled for the connector.
- `502`: Google rejected or did not confirm the operation.
