# Find the Google Chat direct message with a person

`GET /v1/capabilities/google-workspace/chat-direct-message`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com`
- URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com/v1/capabilities/google-workspace/chat-direct-message`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Returns the existing one-to-one direct message between the member and the person with this email. Google returns 404 when they have no direct message yet; this action cannot start one. Uses only the calling member's selected connected Google account and requires the Google Chat permission on the Google Workspace connector.

## Query parameters

- `email` string, email, required

## Response `200`

Google's validated response.

  - `name` string, required
  - `spaceType` string
  - `displayName` string
  - `spaceUri` string
  - `lastActiveTime` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input.
- `401`: Sign-in required.
- `409`: Missing permission or Google Chat is not enabled for the connector.
- `502`: Google rejected or did not confirm the operation.
