# Promote a response record to an incident

`POST /api/{org_id}/oncall/responses/{response_id}/promote`

## Path parameters

- `org_id` string, required

## Request body

- PromoteRequest: Promotes a firing to a full incident.
  - `severity` string, nullable: Absent derives it from the record's priority, so a promotion cannot silently downgrade.
  - `title` string, nullable: Absent takes the record's own title, which is one less field to fill in mid-page.
