# Add a discovered item to an Annotation Queue

`POST /api/{org_id}/annotation_queues/{queue_id}/items`

## Request

Adds a discovered span, trace, or session to one Annotation Queue. Returns a conflict when the same reference is already in the Queue.

- `org_id` string, required
- `queue_id` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `refId` string, required: Span, trace, or session identifier, according to `refType`.
  - `refTraceId` string, nullable: Owning trace ID. Required only when `refType` is `span`.
  - `refTraceStartTime` integer, required: Reference trace start time in microseconds. Required for every scope and used as the lower bound for Workbench score/annotation searches.
  - `refType` string, required: Discovered object scope: `span`, `trace`, or `session`.
