# Read a shared AI conversation

`GET /api/{org_id}/ai/shared/{token}`

The conversation behind a share link, cut at the share's sequence. With `known_seq` and `known_version` equal to the current `seq` and `state_version` the body says `not_modified` and carries no turns.

## Response `200`

The shared conversation

- object
  - `active_turn` boolean, required: A turn of a live share is running; poll until it is false.
  - `created_at` integer, required: When the chat was started (micros).
  - `mode` string, required
  - `not_modified` boolean, required: True when `known_seq` and `known_version` are current; `turns` is then omitted.
  - `owner_name` string, nullable: The owner's display name; never their email on a public link.
  - `redact_tools` boolean, required: Tool inputs and outputs are left out of `turns`.
  - `seq` integer, required: Last committed event the share shows; pass back as `known_seq`.
  - `shared_at` integer, required: When the share was created (micros).
  - `state_version` string, required: Changes with `seq`, turn statuses and share settings; send back as `known_version`.
  - `title` string, required
  - `truncated` boolean, required: The oldest turns were left out to keep the response within the server's size cap.
  - `turns` object[], nullable: Same shape as `GET /ai/chats/{session_id}` returns, without `user_message_id`.

## Other responses

- `404`: Unknown, revoked or expired share
- `429`: Too many shared reads in flight; retry
- `503`: History temporarily unreadable
