# Delete message

`DELETE /v1/messages/{id}`

Delete a message from its inbox.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `204`

Message deleted

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, invalid, or expired API key
- `403`: API key is inbox-scoped, or is not scoped to this message's inbox. Deleting mail needs an account-wide or pod-scoped key.
- `404`: Message not found
