# Update Message Settings

`PUT /settings/messages`

## Request

Update message settings for the customer.

All users can update notification settings.
Only admin users can update messages_enabled (ignored for non-admin users).

## Request body

- UpdateMessageSettingsRequest: Update message settings request model
  - `messages_enabled` boolean, nullable: Whether message taking is enabled (admin only, ignored for non-admin users)
  - `sms_notifications_enabled` boolean, required: Whether SMS notifications are enabled
  - `sms_recipients` string[]: List of phone numbers (E.164 format) to receive SMS notifications
  - `email_notifications_enabled` boolean, required: Whether email notifications are enabled
  - `email_recipients` string[]: List of email addresses to receive notifications

Successful Response

- MessageSettingsResponse: Message settings response model
  - `messages_enabled` boolean, required: Whether message taking is enabled for this customer
  - `sms_notifications_enabled` boolean, required: Whether SMS notifications are enabled
