# Initiate Outbound Call

`POST /outbound-leads/{outbound_lead_id}/call`

Initiate a VAPI outbound call to a lead. Developer-only.

## Path parameters

- `outbound_lead_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- InitiateOutboundCallRequest: Request to initiate a VAPI outbound call to a lead.
  - `case_id` string, uuid, nullable: Case ID to associate with the call (falls back to lead's case_id)
  - `phone_number_id` string, required: VAPI phone number ID to dial from

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- InitiateOutboundCallResponse: Response from initiating a VAPI outbound call.
  - `call_id` string, uuid, required: Internal call record ID
  - `vapi_call_id` string, required: VAPI call ID
  - `outbound_lead_id` string, uuid, required
  - `status` string, required
