# Record count statistics per source type

`GET /stats/sources.json`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.openarchieven.nl/1.1`
- URL: `https://api.openarchieven.nl/1.1/stats/sources.json`
- Auth: none declared

Returns statistics about source types. Without an archive_code all source types across the entire dataset are returned with total record counts. With an archive_code, only source types for that archive are returned. Note: version 1.1 uses `archive_code` instead of `archive`.

## Response `200`

Array of source type statistics

- SourceTypeStat[]
  - `sourcetype` string: Source type code.
  - `sourcetypelocal` string: Localised source type label.
  - `sourcetypeenglish` string: English source type label.
  - `count` integer: Total number of records for this source type.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid archive code
- `429`: Too Many Requests — rate limit of 4 requests per second per IP exceeded.
