# Comment count statistics

`GET /stats/comments.json`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.openarchieven.nl/1.1`
- URL: `https://api.openarchieven.nl/1.1/stats/comments.json`
- Auth: none declared

Returns the total number of validated comments made on records. When no archive_code is provided, the global total is returned. When an archive code is provided, the count for that archive is returned. Note: version 1.1 uses `archive_code` instead of `archive`.

- `archive_code` string
- `callback` string

## Response `200`

Comment count, optionally scoped to an archive

- CommentStat[]
  - `archive` string: Archive code. Only present when filtered by archive.
  - `count` integer: Number of validated comments.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid archive code
- `429`: Too Many Requests — rate limit of 4 requests per second per IP exceeded.
