# Creates a project spend alert.

`POST /organization/projects/{project_id}/spend_alerts`

## Path parameters

- `project_id` string, required

## Request body

- CreateSpendAlertBody — Parameters for creating or updating a spend alert.
  - `threshold_amount` integer, required — The alert threshold amount, in cents.
  - `currency` 'USD', required — The currency for the threshold amount.
  - `interval` 'month', required — The time interval for evaluating spend against the threshold.
  - `notification_channel` SpendAlertNotificationChannel, required — Email notification settings for a spend alert.
    - `type` 'email', required — The notification channel type. Currently only `email` is supported.
    - `recipients` string[], required — Email addresses that receive the spend alert notification.
    - `subject_prefix` string, nullable — Optional subject prefix for alert emails.

## Response `200`

Project spend alert created successfully.

- ProjectSpendAlert — Represents a spend alert configured at the project level.
  - `id` string, required — The identifier, which can be referenced in API endpoints.
  - `object` 'project.spend_alert', required — The object type, which is always `project.spend_alert`.
  - `threshold_amount` integer, required — The alert threshold amount, in cents.
  - `currency` 'USD', required — The currency for the threshold amount.
  - `interval` 'month', required — The time interval for evaluating spend against the threshold.
  - `notification_channel` SpendAlertNotificationChannel, required — Email notification settings for a spend alert.
    - `type` 'email', required — The notification channel type. Currently only `email` is supported.
