# Check a licence

`GET /verify-license`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.opedd.com`
- URL: `https://api.opedd.com/verify-license`
- Auth: none required

Public. `key=OP-…` checks one article licence: its status, type, licensee (email masked), the article, the amount, the on-chain record, the terms version and the licence text (`agreement`), and `rights`, a plain statement of what the licence permits. A revoked licence still answers 200, with `status: "revoked"` and `valid: false`. `license_id=<uuid>` checks a licence order, optionally for one article (`content_id`) at a moment in time (`timestamp`): `valid_at_time`, `rights`, `terms` and the Tempo record.

- `content_id` string, uuid
- `timestamp` string, date-time

## Response `200`

The licence. The shape depends on whether you sent `key` or `license_id`.

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing license key/id; malformed UUID; malformed timestamp
- `404`: Licence not found
- `405`: Method other than GET / OPTIONS
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
