# Accept a new version of an agreement

`POST /legal-documents`

## Request

Records that you accepted the latest published version of an agreement. Send the `version` and the `body_sha256` of the text you read (from `GET /legal-documents?kind=…`). If a newer version has been published since, the answer is `409 NOT_CURRENT_VERSION`: read the new text and accept that. Accepting a version you already accepted changes nothing (`already: true`). Only the publication owner can accept the Publisher Agreement.

## Response `200`

## Other responses

- `400`: The body failed validation. `error.details` names the fields.
- `401`: Missing or invalid credential
- `403`: `OWNER_ONLY` (Publisher Agreement) or `NOT_A_BUYER` (buyer agreements)
- `404`: `NOT_PUBLISHED`
- `409`: A newer version is published
