# Get a licensed article's text

`GET /content-delivery`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.opedd.com`
- URL: `https://api.opedd.com/content-delivery`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

The text of one article you licensed, with `author`, `language`, `word_count`, `content_hash`, `image_urls`, `canonical_url` and `tags` (`null` means not provided). Text only: images and other media are removed. `section_id` returns one section.

**Credential:** your buyer API key, for articles you licensed one at a time and for articles under any licence order your account holds; or the buyer token from `POST /enterprise-auth` for one order. Sandbox tokens get the first 500 characters.

**What each licence returns:** AI answers monthly and Client display return the full text of articles published since the order began; an older article answers 404 (it is covered by the Full catalogue, not by the monthly licence). A per-request order is read through questions: `POST /search`; this endpoint answers `403 SEARCH_ONLY_LICENCE`.

An article the publisher withdrew for a rights problem answers `410 CONTENT_REVOKED`. An article the publisher only stopped selling stays available to you until your licence ends. Responses carry a `Link` header to the publisher's licence manifest and, where the publisher reserves text-and-data-mining rights, `tdm-reservation: 1`.

## Other responses

- `400`: `article_id` is not a UUID
- `401`: Missing, invalid or expired token or key
- `403`: Your licence doesn't cover this article or publisher, has expired or is not active yet; the publisher has stopped offering the article (`ARTICLE_EXCLUDED`); or the publisher has not enabled delivery; or the article was published after your Full catalogue licence was bought (`OUTSIDE_LICENCE_WINDOW`)
- `404`: Article or section not found, or published before your monthly licence began
- `410`: Withdrawn by the publisher because of a rights problem. Under clause 8.2 of the Standard Licence Terms, stop using the article and delete every copy within 30 days; a refund of the part of the fee for it is due (`refund_due`).
- `429`: Too many requests (200 per minute per token)
- `503`: The audit record or the licence check could not run, so nothing was returned. Retry.
