# Fill units into a parcel

`POST /orders/{id}/fill`

## Request

Counts units as a packer fills them. On the first fill of a multi-order parcel it claims a shelf basket, and it refuses to take the count past what was ordered. The order must be IN_PRODUCTION.

A fill is a COUNTER, which makes it the one station action a replay corrupts quietly rather than refusing. `Idempotency-Key` is REQUIRED.

  - `amount` integer, required: How many units this fill adds. At least 1, and never more than remains.
  - `occurred_at` string: When it happened on the floor, if that is not now. ISO-8601; see the scan endpoint for the limits.

## Response `200`

The parcel, with `filled` updated on every order in it. `meta.basket` is the shelf slot it is staged in, when it has one.

## Other responses

- `401`: No key, or a key that is unknown, revoked or expired. One message for all four — telling you which would confirm to a guesser that a key exists.
- `403`: The key is valid but its owner may not do this.
- `404`: No such record — including records that exist but belong to someone else. The API never confirms another seller's ids.
- `409`: The request contradicts the current state of the record.
- `422`: The body or query is malformed. Field-level detail arrives in `error.fields`.
- `429`: Over the per-key limit. `Retry-After` says how many seconds to wait.
- `500`: Our fault. `error.request_id` matches the X-Request-Id header — quote it to support.
