# Escalate request to skip-manager

`POST /requests/{id}/escalate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.opal.dev/v1`
- URL: `https://api.opal.dev/v1/requests/{id}/escalate`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Escalates a pending access request to the target user's skip-level manager.
Only the request's requester may call this endpoint.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

The request was escalated, or was already approved or denied.

  - `success` boolean, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Unknown JSON fields in the request body, the request does not require manager approval, or the target user has no manager / skip-manager set.
- `403`: The authenticated user cannot escalate this request.
- `404`: The request was not found.
- `409`: The request has already been escalated, or the manager has already approved.
