# Public platform statistics

`GET /v1/public/stats`

Aggregate corpus, universe, on-chain and derived-layer counts. FREE and unauthenticated: one of two /v1 routes priced at zero credits, which is what lets the public site show live numbers without an x402 challenge. Aggregates only: nothing per-asset, per-address or per-user, and ingest sources are reported as coarse classes rather than named. `records` is the exact sum of every row-counting field in the response; it is null, never short, when any contributing read failed. Same rule for `metrics`, `narratives`, `stories`, `revisions`, `graded_creators`, `holder_rows`, `relationships_tested` and `metric_rows`: null means the read did not answer, not that we hold none.

- `404`: Not found, or metric registered but not yet served (the body names it)
