# Preview a CSV / Excel import into a list

`POST /workspace/tables/{id}/import`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.onplana.com/api`
- URL: `https://api.onplana.com/api/workspace/tables/{id}/import`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Parses the upload, proposes or applies a column mapping, and returns what WOULD happen: rows to add, rows it could not read and why, columns and dropdown choices that would be created, and the row quota after. Writes nothing. multipart/form-data with `file` and an optional `mapping` JSON field. CONTRIBUTE-gated on the list; JWT only (the workspace router denies PATs). 415 for a format that is not a spreadsheet, with the project importer named as the place to go instead.
