# Update the private labels of a fan. (For OnlyFans account only)

`PATCH /api/v0/accounts/{account_id}/fans/{fan_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://omapi.onlymonster.ai`
- URL: `https://omapi.onlymonster.ai/api/v0/accounts/{account_id}/fans/{fan_id}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-om-auth-token`

Sets the custom name and the note the account owner keeps for a fan.

Both are private to the account owner: they are never shown to the fan and are not the
fan's profile name on the platform.

**Rate limit:** 1 request per second

**Required permission:** `onlyfans.messages`

## Path parameters

- `account_id` string, required
- `fan_id` string, required

## Request body

- union: At least one field must be present. Fields left out keep their current value.

    - `custom_name` string, required: Private label shown to the account owner instead of the fan's nickname. Cannot be empty — there is no way to restore the nickname once a custom name is set.
    - `note` string: Private note about the fan. An empty string clears the note.

## Other responses

- `403`: The API key lacks the permission this endpoint requires, or the request is outside what the organisation or the API key can access.
- `404`: No fan with the given fan_id exists for this account on the platform.
- `422`: The account's platform session is disconnected or deauthorized. Reconnect the account in OnlyMonster and retry.
