# Delete a referral

`DELETE /leads/{identifier}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.lassotech.com/api/v1/rest`

- Auth: API key in header `x-lasso-access-token`

Delete a referral and void its draft invoices. Invoices already past draft are left as they
are. Fires the `lead.deleted` webhook. Requires `leads_delete`.

Deleting an already-deleted referral returns `422` with `ALREADY_DELETED`, not `404`, so a
reconciling caller can tell "already gone" from "never existed".

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: API key lacks required permission
- `404`: Resource not found
- `422`: Validation error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Wait the number of seconds in `Retry-After`, then retry.
