# POST assets instances_confirm_multipart_upload

`POST /api/v1/assets/confirm_multipart_upload`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.onecodex.com`
- URL: `https://app.onecodex.com/api/v1/assets/confirm_multipart_upload`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

## Request body

- object
  - `filename` string, required: The filename of the uploaded asset. Filenames should only contain alphanumeric characters, dashes, underscores, and periods.
  - `name` string, nullable: An optional display name for the asset. Defaults to `filename` if not provided.
  - `s3_path` string, required: The `s3://` URI where the multipart upload was completed (built from `s3_bucket` and `file_id` returned by `/assets/init_multipart_upload`).

## Response `200`

OK

- object
  - `asset_id` string, required: The asset ID of the newly created asset. The asset will be in the `importing` status until its contents have been copied to One Codex storage.
