# Transfer call

`POST /live/sessions/{session_id}/refer`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.openai.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.openai.com/v1/live/sessions/{session_id}/refer`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Transfer a SIP call to another destination. Supply a nonblank target_uri for the SIP Refer-To header.

## Path parameters

- `session_id` string, required

## Request body

- LiveCallReferRequest: Parameters used to transfer a Live SIP call to another destination.
  - `target_uri` string, required: URI that should appear in the SIP Refer-To header. Supports values like `tel:+14155550123` or `sip:agent@example.com`.

## Response `200`

Session refer request accepted.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request body or headers.
- `404`: The session or call was not found or is unavailable for this operation.
- `500`: An internal error occurred. The response body is plain text.
