# Create checkpoint permissions

`POST /fine_tuning/checkpoints/{fine_tuned_model_checkpoint}/permissions`

## Request

- URL: `https://api.openai.com/v1/fine_tuning/checkpoints/{fine_tuned_model_checkpoint}/permissions`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

**NOTE:** Calling this endpoint requires an [admin API key](https://developers.openai.com/api/reference/resources/admin/subresources/organization/subresources/admin_api_keys).

This enables organization owners to share fine-tuned models with other projects in their organization.

- `fine_tuned_model_checkpoint` string, required

## Request body

- CreateFineTuningCheckpointPermissionRequest
  - `project_ids` string[], required: The project identifiers to grant access to.

## Response `200`

OK

- ListFineTuningCheckpointPermissionResponse
  - `data` FineTuningCheckpointPermission[], required
    - `id` string, required: The permission identifier, which can be referenced in the API endpoints.
    - `created_at` integer, required: The Unix timestamp (in seconds) for when the permission was created.
    - `project_id` string, required: The project identifier that the permission is for.
    - `object` 'checkpoint.permission', required: The object type, which is always "checkpoint.permission".
  - `object` 'list', required
  - `first_id` string, nullable
  - `last_id` string, nullable
  - `has_more` boolean, required

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is invalid or checkpoint permissions cannot be changed for the requested projects or job state.
- `404`: The checkpoint or its fine-tuning job was not found, or the checkpoint cannot be shared.
- `429`: The request rate limit has been exceeded.
