# Create a tag

`POST /tags`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.omnisocials.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.omnisocials.com/v1/tags`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

At most 200 tags per workspace. A name is unique in the workspace (case-insensitive).

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string, required: Unique in the workspace (case-insensitive).
  - `color` 'blue' | 'green' | 'orange' | 'red' | 'purple' | 'pink' | 'teal' | 'yellow' | 'brown' | 'gray': Omit on create to get the next colour of the palette.

## Response `201`

The new tag

- object
  - `data` Tag: A workspace's own label for its posts (for example a hook style or a format), to filter and compare posts in Analytics. Never sent to a platform.
    - `id` integer
    - `name` string
    - `color` 'blue' | 'green' | 'orange' | 'red' | 'purple' | 'pink' | 'teal' | 'yellow' | 'brown' | 'gray'
    - `created_at` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `400`: `invalid_tag_name` or `invalid_tag_color`
- `409`: `tag_exists` (the existing tag is in `error.tag`) or `tag_limit_reached`
