# Delete a skill

`DELETE /v1/skills/{skillId}`

Soft-deletes a skill and makes its handle (`/quarterly-report`) available for reuse.

## Path parameters

- `skillId` string, uuid, required

## Query parameters

- `userId` string, uuid

## Response `200`

The skill was deleted

- SkillDeleteResponse
  - `deletedAt` string, date-time, required: ISO 8601 timestamp the skill was deleted at
  - `id` string, uuid, required: ID of the deleted skill

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed `skillId` (must be a UUID)
- `403`: Skills are not enabled for the caller, or the skill belongs to someone else and the caller is not an Organization Admin.
- `404`: No skill with this ID in the organization
- `405`: Method not allowed
