# Update topic

`PATCH /v1/models/{modelId}/topic/{topicName}`

Update an existing topic.

## Path parameters

- `modelId` string, uuid, required
- `topicName` string, required

## Query parameters

- `branch_id` string, uuid

## Request body

- object
  - `description` string: Description of the topic, shown in the topic picker
  - `groupLabel` string: Group label for the topic
  - `hidden` boolean: Whether the topic is hidden from the topic picker.
  - `label` string: The display label for the topic
  - `newTopicName` string: The new name of the topic, if performing a rename.
