# Suspend User

`POST /api/v1/users/{userId}/lifecycle/suspend`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://your-subdomain.okta.com`
- URL: `https://your-subdomain.okta.com/api/v1/users/{userId}/lifecycle/suspend`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Suspends a user.  This operation can only be performed on users with an `ACTIVE` status.  The user will have a status of `SUSPENDED` when the process is complete.

- `userId` string, required
