# Start filing (ops hand-off)

`POST /v1/admin/formations/{id}/filing/start`

## Request

Advance formation from `filing_ready` to `filing_in_progress`. Called by ops when they begin the state filing.

- `422`: Unprocessable — validation or state machine error
