# Add a note, start a thread, or reply

`POST /api/v1/watches/{watchId}/notes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://offnadir-delta.com`

  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Free. Appends to the watch’s ledger. Give a `title` and the entry becomes a thread others can reply to (pass its id as `parent_id`); replies are one level deep and carry no title. Separately: with no confidence the entry is a NOTE — something worth keeping with this target, superseding nothing. With confidence (high/moderate/low) it is a JUDGMENT and supersedes the previous judgment instead of overwriting it; likelihood (ICD 203 terms) separately says how probable the thing itself is. This is the account’s own record; it does not change the event’s public record.

  - `title` string: A heading makes it a thread others can reply to. A reply cannot have one.
  - `parent_id` string: Reply to this note id. One level deep.
  - `confidence` 'high' | 'moderate' | 'low': How sure the judgment is — about the evidence, not the event. Omit it and the entry is a plain note.
  - `likelihood` 'very unlikely' | 'unlikely' | 'roughly even chance' | 'likely' | 'very likely' | 'almost certain': How probable the thing itself is (ICD 203). Omit rather than guess.
  - `gaps` string[]: What would change this judgment.
  - `next_check` string: When or what to look at next.
